Ethics of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the European Union – comparison of approach in Germany, Austria, France, Spain and Poland

This is an interdisciplinary project which objective is to analyse the policy documents, legislative proposals, principles, guidelines and regulations and other documents related to Artificial Intelligence (AI) strategies issued by the European Union and by selected EU member countries: Germany, Austria, France, Spain and Poland. The research demonstrates the works of EU countries on the Ethics of AI, delivers the list of institutions and universities focused on the topic of Ethics of AI, presents the state of scientific research and the events organized to promote ethical usage of AI. The outcomes of the particular sections of the project lead to the main target of the research – comparison of approach and the stage of works on Ethics of AI in Germany, Austria, France, Spain and Poland. It is highly important to compare their progress to show the strengths and weaknesses and possibilities for further development in Ethics of AI in each of the mentioned countries.

About

Ida Skubis is an Assistant Professor at the Silesian University of Technology. She holds a PhD degree and MA degree in four languages: English, German, French and Spanish. Ida Skubis has professional experience in both academia and business.

Ida Skubis research interests are: AI, AI in Management, AI in Linguistics, Ethics of AI, robots, chatbots, human-robot interaction, tourism industry, NLP, MT, IE: NER, cognitive technologies, psycholinguistics, neurolinguistics, discourse analysis, corpus/text linguistics, digital humanities, specialised languages, specialised translation, pluricentrism. She participated in numerous international conferences in Poland and abroad, she is involved in various AI projects, and she is a reviewer for international journals on the topics of AI.
